It has been awhile since I have posted but do post on my FB page, I have slowed down on the quilts some, you can only have use for so many, and have filled up family you begin to do other things.  I've switched to bags and home decor for some time now.  I do have a quilt underway, I won't completely stopped quilting.  

Grandson's WMU quilt

My grandson Jacob has worn out his quilt from 2006, and he has grown considerably. Since he is now in college and in an apartment I thought I would do his school colors, Western Michigan University. It is flannel backed to help with the cold weather.

Triangles

My daughter-in-law mentioned she would love to have a throw quilt for the family room. She would like it made from all the scrap fabric I have used over the years for them. I did my best and hoped they would enjoy the memories. It did grow in size from a throw to about a queen.

I Spy!

I Spy a grandson's quilt. I looked for all kinds of interesting fabric for his little jars of goodies. He and his sisters often play I Spy so I felt this was a fitting quilt for a 6 year old.

The Illusion!

This pattern is Illusion, and was fun to make. This was a Christmas gift for our son and daughter-in-law. Her favorite color was green so all the blocks have green. It has a modern flare, which I think they like. I did put grey flannel on the back. It will be a warm and cozy winter for them.

My granddaughter Lucy needed a new bag for her gymnastic programs.  So mommy and Lucy went fabric shopping and picked out two fabrics that coordinated. They settled on a paisley and a animal print that worked very well together. Lucy gave me some design ideas and this is what we ended up with. We had a few scraps left and made a little zippered bag to match. It was a fun project.

This was a fun lattice table runner to make. It would even be a great quilt. The runner was for my daughter-in-law Sarah's birthday...who isn't having birthdays anymore. ;D

What a cold snowy January this year in Ohio. What better time to quilt. I decided on a Five and Dime quilt as done in the tutorials on Missouri Star Quilts. I had some great assistants, Lucy and Paige, granddaughters who helped me arrange the fabrics. One of the best things I did was back it with flannel, it just stays there and doesn't move or shift. Very cozy!

Kayden, my Grandson, has had patience while I worked on his quilt. He picked the quilt out last winter and we did a few blocks together so he could be involved. I just gave him this for his birthday this winter. He said he remembered working on it and he put it on his bed immediately, along with a big smile. This is a little larger than a twin, which I think it too small anyway for kids. They need room to grow.

Lucy decided on a quilt for her day bed. She found a picture and sent it to me. I think I made this mostly from my stash of orange and yellows.

This is the latest purse, it was made specifically for a gift and their favorite color is purple and lavender. I hope this works!

I spotted this purse pattern while on vacation this past summer in Mankato Minn. I gave it a Western or Cowgirl flair with this fabric. It is loaded with pockets and a large front pocket with the slanted cover. The interior is made to hold a tablet along with ample room.

I thought a boy needed a birthday quilt!  He has a new bedroom and I heard him mention he wanted to paint it lime green and grey.  After a long search I am hoping this is what he had in mind. Happy Birthday Thomas!  I hope you like it. I found these fabrics, with help from Connie at the Busy Thimble Quilt Shop in Bowling Green OH.

Star Quilt

I just finished this black and red quilt. Can you believe I made it for myself?  This quilt will go in a spare bedroom on a double bed.  I did an online star block of the month quilt. I tried a new method of quilting as you go so this was a test quilt for me. Thanks to Diana Trost and her great class I took at Sonflower Quilts in Sylvania, OH. Hopefully I get better, I did LEARN what not to do. ;-)  The next quilt is already cut out!

Purse for Fall

It seems I am having an affair with the color salmon lately.  This purse is a version of one posted earlier this year which was done in pinks.  It has brown accents with my lovely salmon color.  I know, I know...I am showing off my blue ribbon from the Fulton County Ohio Fair.  Thanks for looking.

Sydney's long awaited Baby Quilt

This quilt was for Sydney, my granddaughter. It was a little late in coming, but we didn't have a lot of time before she was born to get a quilt made.  I saved it for the fair and glad I did! I won a blue ribbon in the Fulton County Fair. I hope she loves it.

Valentine Runner

I made this table runner for Valentines Day. If you look closely you will see the red ribbon...which at first I  thought why not a blue ribbon.  But now I know...the ribbon matches the runner. At least it did get a ribbon, from the Fulton County Ohio Fair.

Maribeth's Modern Runner & Placemats

I made these for my Daughter-in-Law's birthday. She likes green and modern fabrics, so I hope she likes this two-sided set. Her table is rectangle so it might look better than on my oval table. ;-)

Addison's Birthday

This is Addison's 6th birthday. She needed a new purse, pillow and some clothes for her Am Girl doll. You might have noticed her favorite color is purple, and a close second is pink.
